Meet our Teachers

Your Yoga Team

Carol Magie, RPT, RYT 500

Carol is a Physical Therapist and Yoga Teacher. She loves connecting  with people and helping them to feel good in their bodies and happier in  their whole being! Carol is forever grateful for her Baron Baptiste  Yoga Training which taught her to always show up as her true authentic  self in the moment. Seane Corn, Alexandria Crow, Liz Koch, Jessa Munion,  and Lara Heimann have also been influential guides for her on this yoga  journey. Carol blends her science background and spirituality in every  unique class she teaches! She has training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga,  Ayurveda, Human Design, Chakras, Psoas, and Anatomy. She blends Eastern  and Western medicine together to help her students reach their highest  potential. When not on the mat, Carol can be found hiking, mountain  biking, skiing or paddling on Burntside Lake. 


Carol also provides private and group yoga sessions, private physical therapy sessions, private and group yoga paddle board sessions and Quantum Human Design coaching.

Elevate With Carol

Erika Peterson, RYT 200

Erika has been practicing, teaching, and a student of yoga since around  2011. The breath and body connection is emphasised in all of her  classes. Erika is grateful to her teachers MaryBeth Nehl for her  guidance and knowledge of Ashtanga Yoga and 200hr RYT training, and Matt  and Jaina Portwood for adjustments, anatomy, and 200hr RYT Hatha Yoga  training and Yin Yoga Intensive. Other trainings that Erika integrates  into her practice and teachings are breathwork and meditation, Trauma  Sensitive Yoga, Nidra, and Yin Yoga. She is hoping to hold space for  students to discover a deep connectedness to their body, mind, and  present moment through joyful practice. You can find Erika skiing,  hiking, camping, running, reading, and enjoying the outdoors whenever she can.  

Christine Kolinski, RYT 200

Christine has been teaching yoga on and off in the Ely area since 2010.  She loves to be a conduit of the yoga path and teachings to other  students of all levels. Christine is blessed to have been trained at  Expanding Light-Ananda in California and brings with her training the  opportunity for spiritual connection, awareness, healing, energy  movement, and affirmations. Christine is a Public Affairs Specialist for  the USDA Forest Service. When not working or teaching yoga, she enjoys  an array of outdoor recreation like biking, running, and Nordic skiing  and stays busy with her blended family of six and numerous pets.  

Mary Friedmeyer, RYT 200

Mary has been a lifelong seeker of learning, specifically around  holistic health. Her formal health training from the University of  Minnesota  includes: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing  Practice in Health Innovation & Leadership, Graduate Minor in  Integrative Health and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Design &  Healing Spaces. Mary is forever grateful to the Master Teachers at  Devanadi Yoga in Minneapolis as well as the Teachers at End of the Road  Yoga, for their inspirations, knowledge, skillsets and passion for mind  & body wellness. She is passionate about nature-based therapeutics  and strives to make this part of every day.  Mary and her husband love  raising their son in and around the Ely community, where they can teach  him about taking care of and connecting to our natural world.  

Sandra Negen, RYT 200

Sandra is a dedicated spiritual seeker who found yoga ten years ago and  never looked back.  She graduated remotely with her 200 hr YTT from My  Vinyasa Practice based out of Austin, Texas.  She holds deep gratitude  for the founder of MVP Michelle Young and all the other lead trainers  and practitioners worldwide in the MVP community.  Sandra takes a  holistic approach to her teaching.  She views each class as an  opportunity to help her students deepen physical, intellectual,  emotional, and spiritual connection to the self.  When she is not in her  asana practice you will find her chasing her three children, spending  time on Birch Lake, creating, reading and gardening.  Come enjoy her  unique classes here at End of the Road Yoga.
